Visiting Holland? Are you the kind of runner that simply has to do his training every day or so? Don't worry, you will find your way in Holland. There is enough to do! From the crazy style runner to the more serious, advanced runner. Just as long as you enjoy it, it is ok. Pick your choice:
Ladies, like your high heels? Well, check out "The High Heel Race" in Amsterdam. Every year this run is held in the P.C Hooftstraat, over a 300 meters stretch. Crazy and big fun!
Visit Amsterdam or Rotterdam and want to know more about the city while working out? Go for a Sightjog! Your Sightjog guide will tell you all about the city, its' history, funny stories, nicest cafes and places you should not miss.
Just want to have fun? In summer, you can find "mud runs" in the north east of Holland. The idea is simple but unique: during a stretch of about 5 kilometers you will have to cross more than 30 streams and mud fields...you can imagine how much fun this will be! Don't forget your clean, dry clothes.
In Limburg, in the south of Holland, we have some of the greatest hills. Many people go for mountain biking here, but why not run such a trail? Go to the VVV (information) in Maastricht of Gulpen or pick up a route in Euverem, Gulpen or Slenaken, the best spots to find! Run through the fields, just like in England, cross little streams, run through the cool forests...you will find yourself at home here. You can run here for days, or even weeks. Our famous Pieterpad, a long distance path, is leading from the north of Holland, Pieterburen to Maastricht, so you could also pick up this one, and do some of the 450 kilometers or so!
You like to be near the coast? Well, run the North Sea Trail. It is 725 kilometers long and runs all along the coast of Holland. You will experience the difference between the sweet coasts in Zeeland with it beautiful sand dunes, the lively coast near Scheveningen and the rougher coastline in the North.
